SCHEDULE: Project on Smart Intersections Successfully Completed
On October 15, 2025, the research and development project SCHEDULE (Smart Intersections with Connected and Autonomous Vehicles) was successfully completed — an achievement that strengthens Hipert S.r.l.’s commitment to autonomous and cooperative mobility.
The main goal was to develop an infrastructure for prototyping smart intersection systems using connected and autonomous vehicles, achieving a proof of concept in a scaled physical environment — resulting in a fully functioning intelligent intersection.
The project led to the development of advanced algorithms and the prototyping of 1:10 scale autonomous vehicles equipped with sensors and NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX computing units. The system’s architecture features a central control unit that coordinates vehicle movements via V2X (IEEE 802.11p) communication standards, ensuring safer and more efficient intersections.
SCHEDULE was funded with the support of the European Union – NextGenerationEU and is part of Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) – Mission 4: Education and Research, under Investment 1.3 RESTART.
